Praise and Worship
Praise and worship are an integral part of our growth as Christians. We want
to see Christ glorified through our praise at the Edmonton Centre Victory
Church. Psalm 100:4 says: "Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his
courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name". Life tends to
bog us down with cares and worries, but God calls us to lay them at his feet and
worship him. Although this is not easy, there are major benefits such as renewed
strength and a shift in perspective. When we choose to celebrate God through our
praise and worship, our focus is taken off of ourselves and placed onto the one
who can truly make a difference in our lives. |
God has also chosen to use our worship team for song writing purposes. Many
of the songs we sing in the service have been written by the team or by a member
of the team. Our desire is to be "Lead Worshipers for Christ", leading
people in praise and worship through example.
There are 4 main things that happen when we worship God:
- God is glorified and blessed as we worship Him
- We are unified as a body of believers as we join together to worship God
- The spiritual climate of our area is changed as we proclaim
"life" in the words that we sing.
- We are edified as all of the above occurs!
As you worship with us, feel free to clap, dance, kneel, raise your hands,
etc. We want people to feel free as they worship the Lord. Our hope is that as
you worship with us, you will grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and
you will experience the blessing of seeing Him glorified in your praise.
